First recruited by Western Australia as a rookie for the 2015-16 season, Inglis now stands among Australia's best wicketkeeper-batters. Inglis is regarded highly for the quality of his glovework and has been selected on numerous Australia Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International tours, making his ODI and T20I debuts in 2022.

The dynamic right-hander bats towards the top of the order during limited overs games, where his inventive strokeplay and fearlessness rises to the fore. 

Inglis played a significant role in Western Australia's 2023-24 Sheffield Shield title after returning to the squad for the last three matches of the campaign following international duty. The 29-year-old scored 266 runs at 53.2 including a century against Queensland at the WACA Ground. 

The wicketkeeper-batter has become a regular fixture in both of Australia's white-ball teams, playing in Australia's victorious World Cup team in 2023 and being one of the first picked players in the side. 

His dynamism in the T20 game has stood out at international level, becoming one of only four Australians to have struck multiple centuries in the game's shortest format.

His leadership is highly regarded among his peers, and went on to captain in Australia's limited-overs series against Pakistan in late 2024.

Known for his prowess against spin-bowling, Inglis earned a Test debut against Sri Lanka in Galle in February 2025.
