Purpose

  • To promote and connect community clubs, schools, and existing community groups in conjunction with WA Cricket and local cricket stakeholders.
  • Support the local cricket strategic plan to increase participation, officials and fans of cricket across the Perth Metropolitan regions.
  • To support a thriving cricket pathway for boys and girls.
  • Identify and support the implementation of targeted activities that will contribute to higher player retention rates with community cricket.
  • Support the alignment of all stakeholders from the Metro South, Metro North and Central East cricket regions.
  • Closer alignment to local governments regarding club development, facilities and grant opportunities.

Guiding Principals

  • The hubs will bring together local stakeholders in general and targeted forums to share information, address local issues and build a network of club support.
  • The hubs will meet quarterly with other specific forums, meetings and workshops developed as required by the community. Guided by a Terms of Reference.
  • The hubs allow a natural inclusion of cricket stakeholders broader than just junior cricket clubs including Senior and Premier clubs, schools, and Local and State government bodies.

Central East Advisory Hub

  • Andrew Cox
    Andrew is the President of Swan Athletic Caversham Junior Cricket Club and an experienced coach and community representative in cricket within the Midland Guildford area.
  • Carl Young
    Carl is the President of Leederville Mt Hawthorn Junior Cricket Club and bring his all-round experience from Junior Community Sport and Cricket Blast to how the future of cricket can look.
  • Emma Harris
    Emma is the Vice President and Cricket Blast Coordinator at Coolbinia-West Perth Junior Cricket Club and is committed to ensuring that there are no barriers, so everyone has the opportunity to participate in cricket.
  • Jake Snadden
    Jake is involved in Premier Cricket at the Perth Cricket Club as a player, volunteer and coordinator of the Sunset Scorchers Program, bringing his expertise in social formats. Additionally, Jake is a Primary School Teacher at Victoria Park Primary School and had previously worked at WA Cricket.
  • Jody Chilman
    Jody is the Secretary at Chittering Junior Cricket Club and brings her experience in growing a small Junior Community Cricket Club and background in Education.
  • Inez de Wit
    Inez is the Club Administrator and Cricket Blast Coordinator at South Perth Junior Cricket Club. Furthermore, brings her expertise in how a large club operates and deliver Junior Cricket and Cricket Blast.
  • Mark Bowler
    Mark is the President of Lesmurdie Mazenod Junior Cricket Club, a club that is currently going through a rebrand with support and the use of the Grassroots Cricket Fund. Mark had also previously worked at WA Cricket and Coached WA State Underage Teams.
  • Sandra Hagerty
    Sandra is the Junior Registrar and Child Safety Officer at Swan Valley Cricket Club. Furthermore, Sandra is passionate about ensuring everyone is looking after their Mental Health and creating a positive future for generations.

Metro South Advisory Hub

  • Aaron Caird
    Aaron has held many volunteering roles in junior community sport, including as Cricket Blast Coordinator and President at his club Jandakot Lakes Junior Cricket Club.
  • Kim Betley
    Among her many volunteer roles within junior sport, Kim has been the Junior Vice-President of White Knight Baldivis Cricket Club and President of the Peel Junior Cricket Association.
  • Kierin Janes
    Kierin is the Head of Junior School at Peter Carnley Anglican Community School and a trained facilitator of the Daughters & Dads Program they have run multiple times out of her school.
  • Chris Speijers
    Chris has been involved in junior community cricket in multiple capacities for many years, including most recently as the President of the South West Junior Cricket Council.
  • Rob Palmiero
    Rob has held many volunteer positions at Bicton Junior Cricket Club; Cricket Blast Coordinator, Coach, President and Vice-President. Rob was also the Secretary of the South West Junior Cricket Council.
  • Alex Croxford 
    Alex has undertaken many volunteer roles in Junior Community Cricket; Cricket Blast Coordinator, Coach and is the President of Canning Vale Junior Cricket Club.
  • Corey O’Brien
    Corey is an experienced Sports Administrator, sport volunteer and currently works in club development at local government level.

Metro North Advisory Hub

  • Daniel Shortill 
    Daniel previously served as the CJCC (now Metropolitan Junior Cricket Council) Representative from the North-West Metro Cricket Association and is a former President of Quinns Rock Junior Cricket Club.
  • Franklin Lough
    Franklin is an experienced junior coach at Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club and has previously served as a Development Coach of the Under 19s National Championships.
  • Danny Andrews
    Danny is the current Cricket Blast Coordinator at Joondalup-Kinross Junior Cricket Club. A club he has volunteered at for more than a decade. Additionally, Danny has prior experience working at WA Cricket as the Clubs and Volunteers Specialist.  
  • Dan Rodgers 
    Dan is a Perth Scorchers School Ambassador for his work with Deanmore Primary School and its before school clinics. Dan was acknowledged for his work by winning the Cricket School Ambassador of the Year by WA Cricket. Dan is also currently a coach at Scarborough Junior Cricket Club.
  • Giselle Kilner-Parmenter
    Giselle is a currently an Associate at the Western Australian law firm Jackson McDonald. Previously Giselle was named in the Queensland Indigenous Women’s team in both 2018 and 2019.
  • Melissa Sercombe
    Melissa previously served as the President of North Beach Carine Junior Cricket Club. Beyond this role, Melissa is currently a Human Resource Manager at Wrays.
  • Patrick Murphy 
    Patrick was previously on the Management Committee and Head of the Rules Committee of the Community Junior Cricket Council (CJCC) and has been involved in a variety of volunteer roles with Ballajura-Landsdale Cricket Club.  ​
  • Jen Owens 
    Jen is a former Australian International Cricketer who played 3 tests and 15 ODIs. She was previously involved with Wembley Districts Junior Cricket Club and remains actively involved with Team Connect.
