Do’s and Don’ts in Marketing

Struggling with promoting your club? Lauren Moore has her top tips, do's and don'ts for being across marketing in the digital and social media landscape.

Get Support from your LGA (Local Government Area)

Your Local Government Authority is there to help you! Don't be put off by the name of "LGA", one of their roles is to oversee facilities within the area - be sure to meet regularly! They have plenty of opportunities for development, promotion and fundraising.

Since the recording of this video Tom has moved to the role of Community Cricket Support Services Manager. If you have any enquiries in relation to LGAs, please contact Brodie Green, Infrastructure & Local Government Relations Manager, brodie.green@wacricket.com.au

Writing Grants

Writing grants can seem tiresome and grating, but Jen has some great tips and words of encouragement to help with your Grant Applications!

Attract and Pitch Sponsors and Partners

Sponsors can make a big difference to your club! It doesn't have to be a daunting task engaging sponsors - the relationship between your club and a potential sponsor is mutually beneficial! Think about the needs of your club, many businesses would be thrilled to be seen taking part in the community and meeting the needs of your club. Be honest about the needs of the club, and the costs associated with meeting those needs. As a club you have access to many businesses that are looking for advertising opportunities. To get up and running with a business as a sponsor get a good sense of who comes out to games - take those numbers and think about how they match the demographics that a sponsor would want to market to.
