Green's star continues to rise on the international stage. Considered by many to be a generational allrounder, Green has been a regular fixture in Australia's Test team since making his debut against India at Adelaide Oval in 2020. The towering right-hander has represented his country in all three formats and adapted to playing on a large variety of surfaces around the world. First contracted by WA as a rookie in 2016-17, Green emerged on the scene as a raw fast bowler capable of reaching 145km/h. Later that season, aged 17, Green became the youngest Sheffield Shield debutant to take a five-wicket haul. His talent with the bat, though always evident, rose to prominence during the 2019-20 Sheffield Shield season when Green amassed 699 runs at 63.54 including three centuries. He bettered that effort the following year, hammering 922 Sheffield Shield runs at 76.83 with three centuries, and 210 runs at 42 in the One-Day Cup. These efforts saw Green win the 2020-21 Laurie Sawle Medal. Standing at 198cm, Green has the ability to generate and counter considerable bounce. His calm temperament, ability to read length, and patience with bat and ball, are also considered strengths.
