Batter
A wicketkeeper and top-order batter, Bancroft was offered a WA rookie contract ahead of the 2012-13 season following three breakthrough One-Day Cup appearances in 2011-12. Bancroft scored 896 runs, including three centuries, in the 2014-15 Sheffield Shield season, leading to a call-up for the Test squad to face Bangladesh, only for the tour to be postponed. Bancroft began the 2017-18 Shield season with an unbeaten 228 against South Australia at the WACA Ground, earning him a Test call-up and an Ashes debut. In 2019, Bancroft returned to international cricket as part of Australia's Ashes tour of England.
Bancroft has gone on to play a vital role in WA's hat-trick of Sheffield Shield titles over the past three seasons, cementing himself as one of the most dominant run-scorers in the competition. His 945 runs at 59.06 during the 2022-23 summer led all comers, whilst his four centuries were two more than the next best batter. He backed up those performances in 2023-24 with another productive campaign at the top of the order, with his 778 runs at 48.62 only bettered by Tasmania's Beau Webster.
He has also shown her versatility and reliability in the 50-over format, playing in all three of WA's victorious Marsh Cup campaigns in the last three summers.
