All-rounder
Born in the Northern Territory, Short made his WA debut in 2011 but didn't become a regular in the State setup until 2016. The powerful left-hander has since transformed into one of WA's most destructive 50-over players and holds the record for the State's highest List A score - the remarkable 148-ball 257 he blasted against Queensland in 2018. Short played regular white ball cricket for Australia between 2018 and 2020, and has featured in top Twenty20 competitions around the globe, including the Indian Premier League. At the batting crease, Short has fluent bat and hits the ball powerfully. He is also a useful left-arm wrist spinner, and has played as WA's primary spin bowling option on numerous occasions.
