Stobo joined WA on a full contract ahead of the 2022-23 season, having been part of the State's academy program for several years. Previously contracted with New South Wales, Stobo took 13 wickets in three First-Class games but was starved of opportunities. The accurate medium-fast bowler can swing the new ball, bowl for long periods, and bat in the lower-middle-order.
The 27-year-old has been a reliable performer during WA's golden era, which has seen them win the last three Sheffield Shield titles. He has taken 42 wickets in 15 matches at an impressive average of 25.38.
He has also shown his talents with the bat on occasions, striking two fifties including a best of 61.
Stobo's role for WA was highlighted during last year's Sheffield Shield title-winning season, where he played 10 of a possible 11 matches including the Final against Tasmania at the WACA Ground.
His leadership and mentorship of the state's younger quicks in recent seasons has also been a real feature, with the bowling allrounder guiding the likes of Josh Vernon, Mahli Beardman, Bryce Jackson and Sam Greer through the ranks of Second XI cricket.
