Player Story

A durable quick with ample experience, Gannon joined Western Australia from Queensland ahead of the 2020-21 domestic season. The tall right-armer, who stands around 199cm, generates exceptional bounce, has good control, and bowls with decent pace. Gannon played four Twenty20 Internationals for the United States in 2019.

Gannon played a vital role in WA's third straight Shield title during the 2023-24 season, producing a career-best campaign as WA maintained their domestic dominance in recent years. Gannon took 28 wickets in his six matches, at an average of 18.67 runs per wicket. His ability to strike regularly was a highlight, with the 36-year-old recording the best strike rate of any bowler to take more than 25 wickets.

The eldest player on the contract list, Gannon has taken on a leadership role within the bowling attack, guiding the likes of Mahli Beardman, Josh Vernon and Bryce Jackson as they make their way in domestic cricket.
