England aren’t the only fierce rivals Australia will face in Perth next season, with two star-studded teams from India set to return for an enormous 2025-26 summer of international cricket.
Powerhouse nations poised for Perth
The action begins on Sunday 19 October when Australia meets India for a One Day International (ODI) at Perth Stadium, a month before the hotly anticipated NRMA Insurance Men’s Ashes series is launched with the West Test.
Having reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last season, Australia has an opportunity to start the three-match ODI series by overcoming the dynamic Indian outfit that eliminated them from the Champions Trophy in March.
Star locals Cameron Green, Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis are among the long and impressive list of Western Australians vying to feature against the world’s top ODI side.
Fans from across the world will then converge on Perth to witness Australia and England engage in the next instalment of the game’s oldest rivalry with the NRMA Insurance Men’s Ashes at Perth Stadium from November 21-25, 2025.
After the success of last year’s West Fest, the experience will once again be elevated for cricket fans, bringing the entertainment and energy of the Ashes to Stadium Park, free and open to the public.
Cricket fans looking for more sporting excitement can also walk across to the WACA Ground, where Perth Scorchers will host a Weber Women’s Big Bash League blockbuster.
Rounding out the summer, Australia’s all-conquering women will return to their Perth fortress for an historic day-night Test match against India, starting Friday 6 March.
It will be the first day-night Test ever played at the Ground, and the first international match since its state-of-the-art redevelopment, which is on track to be completed later this year.
In turn, fans can watch the multi-format series finale from the comfort of the new public pavilion, cafe or swimming pool, while WA stars Beth Mooney and Alana King showcase their talents on home soil.
The Australian Women’s team is yet to lose a Test at the WACA Ground, trouncing South Africa by an innings and 284 runs when they last played red ball cricket at the venue in February 2024.
International ticket pre-sale for fans who have registered begins on 3 June 2025, while general public tickets go on sale on 13 June.

Comments attributable to Hon. Rita Saffioti – Minister for Sport and Recreation:
“Western Australia is the place to be for cricket this summer.
“We saw the incredible success of last year’s West Test and the record-breaking attendance at Perth Stadium to see Australia’s men’s cricket team take on India, so the opening ODI of a three-match series against India is a fantastic way to kick off.
“Of course, this is a precursor to the massive Ashes series between Australia and England – cricket’s oldest rivalry - which will attract thousands of fans locally and from across the world, plus millions more who will tune in.
“We are very excited to again be hosting the opening test match of the cricket summer – The West Test - for this highly anticipated Ashes series.
“The action doesn’t stop there either, with the first international match at the redeveloped WACA Ground to be held to round out the summer, between our Aussie women’s team and their Indian rivals.”
Comments attributable to Jess Keily – WA Cricket General Manager Communications, Marketing & Stakeholder Engagement:
“We love rivalries, big occasions, and passionate fans, which makes the upcoming international summer against England and India an incredibly exciting prospect for every cricket lover in WA.
“It's an event every time Australia plays India and we’re confident our fans will turn out in force to match the incredible energy of the Bharat Army during the ODI.
“Less than a month later, we have the enormous privilege of launching The Ashes at Perth Stadium. Clearly, this is one of the biggest rivalries in global sport and we’re already projecting record crowds throughout the match, so the atmosphere promises to be sensational.
“And the history-making day-night women’s Test in March is not only the finale of a multi-format series between two excellent teams, but also a significant day for the newly redeveloped WACA Ground.
“On top of all the cricket, we’re working closely with the WA Government and Cricket Australia to ensure the West Fest returns bigger and better, enhancing the experience of watching live cricket in WA.”
