February's Volunteer of the Month

In conjunction with being a science teacher at Gilmore College, Jen was quick to put her hand up to manage a new team of Year 7 girls, with no prior cricket knowledge. 

Understanding the value of physical activity, playing with friends and the importance of a sense of belonging, Jen is a firm believer in girls playing and enjoying sports.  

Since attending all training sessions and every game, Jen has learnt to score and embraces the duty of being the team’s scorer every match.

The glue which holds the team together, Jen is always on the bus to away games, helping the girls in every way she can and keeps in regular contact with all girls and their families. 

Nominated by a member of her community, Jen’s commitment to providing a strong support network to the girl’s cricket team shows you don’t need to be an expert in the field of cricket to volunteer and leave a positive impact.
