WA Cricket is excited to announce the winners of the 2024-25 Kookaburra WA Cricket Community Cricket Awards.
Kookaburra WA Cricket Community Cricket Awards Night Wraps up 2024-25 Season
The incredible finalists were honoured at the annual awards night at WA’s iconic home of cricket, the WACA Ground, overnight where the work of thousands of community cricket volunteers across the state were acknowledged.
Awards were presented across 17 categories, covering metropolitan and country clubs, associations and outstanding individuals.
Through the WA Cricket Foundation, WA Cricket is a driving force dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and abilities to actively participate within their community.
The inaugural award for the Community Facility Project of the Year went to Chittering Junior Cricket Club and the Shire of Chittering, who played an integral part in the redevelopment of the existing Muchea Hall to new Muchea Recreation Centre Project. Thanks to the redevelopment to number of participants playing cricket has seen a dramatic increase in the region.
Wanderers Cricket Club (WCC) took home the Country Cricket Club of the Year Award, thanks to their work in furthering their commitment to women’s cricket. One of the leading clubs in the state’s regions, WCC continually strive to create an inclusive and safe environment for people to connect, inspire and achieve together.
The Female Metropolitan Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Emma Harris from Coolbinia West Perth Junior Cricket Club (CWPJCC).
Emma took up the mantel of Vice President and within the role has ensured the wellbeing of the club’s junior players is at the forefront, while also coordinating the club’s application for the Grassroots Cricket Fund.
Our final winner of the night was Mark Bowler form Lesmurdie Mazenod Junior Cricket Club. Mark recently took on the club’s Presidency and has worked hard to transform his club.
