September's Volunteer of the Month

WA Cricket's Volunteer of the Month for September is Broome Junior Cricket Association (BJCA) Committee Member, Alex Harris.

Harris was nominated for his instrumental help in getting the Broome Junior Cricket team up and running for the 2024-25 season.

After stepping into the President role at short notice and implementing a raft of positive changes, Harris has been supported by the Association’s committee.

Among his first tasks was ensuring the BJCA was registered for 2024-25, which involved completing and submitting all the necessary documentation in time for Broome’s budding stars to sign up for another summer of cricket.

Harris has also been instrumental in implementing a third junior age group to cater for all junior participants abilities, making the Broome Junior Cricket Association a place for everyone.

“We are incredibly proud to recognise Alex for his efforts in getting BJCA ready for the upcoming cricket season in Broome, we look forward to following the club's achievements over the summer,” WA Cricket Area Manager – Country Andrew Hayes said.

Congratulations to Alex Harris!
