Community Cricket mentoring taking off this season

In season 2024-25, WA Cricket are offering a unique opportunity to train as a Community Cricket Mentor.

The program is designed to provide a new and innovative approach to community coach and umpire development by empowering existing coaches, umpires and administrators to support one coach or umpire as their mentor.

In turn, mentors will receive one-on-one mentoring from a WA Cricket staff member and learn how to apply the specialist mentoring technique to level up their own practice.

This is a selective process, so not all applicants may be selected as a mentor.

The program will run for a minimum of 12 weeks during the 2024-25 season and attendance at a two-day residential training program in August is required.

Mentors will be expected to visit their coach or umpire at training or games multiple times throughout the season, with a small travel bursary available.

While not a paid role, it is designed to support participants growth and development in an exclusive way while mentoring one person within the community.
